Port of Infocom's classic interactive fiction game Deadline to InformIn 1998, I learned Inform (a programming framework to write interactive fiction games in) by porting Infocom's classic game Deadline to it. Or maybe "porting" is the wrong term: I analysed the original, disassembled it and reimplemented it in Inform. The game is mostly complete in the form it is presented here. There may be bugs, there may be a few omissions and there may also be some slight differences between the original and this version. It is mostly intended for instructive purposes. Activision, who then held the copyright to the original game (and still do, as far as I know), granted permission to publish this source code. So here it is. Please note that the archive you can download here does not contain a playable binary, only the source code. Compiled with Inform, however, this source code can be used to produce a fully playable game. Remember that you need a Z-Machine interpreter for your platform to play games like this.
